Carolyn Bain, MPH, Executive Director

Mrs. Bain is a graduate of Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health at the center for Population and Family Health in New York with a concentration in Reproductive Health. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Washington’s Jackson School of International Studies with a concentration in development. At a Ford Foundation funded project, Carolyn was the program associate consultant for reproductive health and education reform program for the Andean Region in Chile. She has served at Entrena S.A. on a USAID -funded Community Development Initiative Fund in Bolivia. As a member of the US Peace Corps she served in Dominican Republic as a Health Education Specialist in a child survival program. She has coordinated operations funded by the NIH and CDC. Most recently she has been the project coordinator at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center on breast cancer prevention trials. She is a strong advocate of equal access to healthcare for women and children.

Moses Bateganya, MB ChB, Mmed, MPH
Senior Vice President, Operations

Dr. Moses Bateganya is an Ugandan-trained physician and public health expert currently based at the International Training and Education Center for Health (I-TECH)/University of Washington. Moses has extensive experience in resource limited settings.

Moses attended medical school at Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda, where he later completed his residency in Internal Medicine. He holds a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Washington and has completed fellowships in HIV care and palliative care in Uganda, the United Kingdom and the United States. Dr. Bateganya’s professional experience includes positions with the Ugandan Ministry of Health, the François-Xavier Bagnoud Center (FXB) and I-TECH; he has also served as a consultant for WHO, USAID and other international health organizations. In addition, Moses remains an active contributor to the University of Antwerp, Institute of Tropical Medicine’s training courses for health care workers in resource-limited settings.

Megan Mager, Msc
Sr. Vice President, Program Development

Ms. Mager is a development specialist with experience in health systems strengthening and good governance programming. Her skills include proposal development, program design, budgeting, procurement planning and monitoring and evaluation. Meg earned her masters degree in global politics with an emphasis on development management from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She also holds a bachelors degree in international affairs and African studies from George Washington University. Meg is currently engaged in a project at the Gates Foundation. Previously she worked for International Training and Education Center for Health (I-TECH) and before that served for two years with the USAID West Africa Mission in Accra, Ghana.

 

Camelia Ades, ARNP, MSN, MPH
Sr. Vice President, Education Program Development

Ms. Ades is a graduate of the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, with Masters in both Nursing and Public Health. She completed doctoral level coursework at the University of Washington and a Post-Masters program at Seattle Pacific University. Camelia is a National Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and is an established clinician in the Seattle area.

As a world citizen and public health provider, she is passionate about global health with an emphasis on maternal/child and reproductive health. At the Washington Association of Community and Migrant Health Centers, she has been the Director of Healthcare Workforce Development. Ms. Ades is also an active member of the Board of Directors at the United Nations Association Seattle chapter, where she has been an advocate for education, peace, social justice, and environmental issues for many years.

Sean Cavandi, MBA
VP, Project Management

Mr. Cavandi is an executive with experience in full life cycle program/project management. His skills include ensuring the timely execution of the details and contingencies embedded within each and every program design, leveraging the latest SFDC Cloud based technology tools geared to assist the non-profit organizations and NGOs. Sean earned his masters degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on aviation management from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. He also holds a bachelors degree through the United States Army Reserve Officer Training Scholarship in Aeronautical Science from ERAU. Sean has been engaged in a Cloud Based system implementation project at UFG. Previously, throughout the past decade Sean has raised several rounds of funding to launch a national food and beverage company and successfully deployed projects as an executive Program Manager at Accenture, CCL, AMEX, Citi Group and the Telecom industry.

Jodi McGuire Jafari, RNC-MNN

A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing, Jodi is a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse, Lactation Specialist and Maternal and Child Health Educator. She is a member of ILCA and is NRP certified. Jodi is a co-founder of Pre-vent.

Treasurer
Scott Tracy, CPA

Scott is a graduate of Oregon State University with over 15 years experience in public accounting, including 9 years with Deloitte in Seattle. He is a member of the AICPA and WSPCA and has previously served as treasurer and board member for the NWChapter of the Crohns & Colitis Foundation of America.
