Robin Jafari, MD, MBA, Chairman

Dr. Jafari is an Ob/Gyn with numerous senior leadership and management responsibilities in healthcare delivery systems. He completed his residency at New York Medical College. Robin received a post graduate medical management certification from Johns Hopkins University School of Business and Medicine. He is a fellow of the American Board of Ob/Gyn and the American Board of Surgery. Robin has an MBA in business development with a concentration in healthcare. He is a member of American Management Association, Physicians for Human Rights and Physicians for Social Responsibility. Dr. Jafari’s passion is providing cost-effective access to preventive healthcare for women and children in developing countries. He is a co-founder of Pre-vent.

Matt Lind, JD

Mr. Lind is an attorney with the offices of Sherrard, McGonagle and Tizzano, PS. He is a graduate of UW with a law degree from Seattle University. His practice includes non-profit law. Matt’s civic activities include Children's Literacy Project.

Peter Lucas, MD

A healthcare activist and practicing psychiatrist, Dr. Lucas graduated from Case Western University School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of California, SD. Peter is a conservationist and an advocate for sustainable development.

Mohsen Naghavi, MD, MPH, PhD

Dr. Naghavi is an associate professor at the Department of Global Health and a Senior Research Scientist at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington. He is an Epidemiologist and has been a research fellow at the Harvard Initiative for Global Health (2007). He is involved in the Institute’s work on mortality, cause-of-death analysis, burden of disease, health systems performance assessment, and effective coverage. Dr. Naghavi is a graduate of the University of Tehran’s School of Medicine and Public Health. He was the head of the Applied Research Center for Health at the Ministry of Health in Iran. Dr. Naghavi has published numerous articles (including reproductive health) and is the author of many books in Public Health.

Peter Rowinsky, MD

Dr Rowinsky is a Pediatric Specialist practicing in the Seattle area. He received his undergraduate degree in Anthropology at Princeton University and went to medical school at the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his residency at Seattle Children’s Hospital and the University of Washington in Urgent Care. Dr. Rowinsky has a special interest in PMTCT and has been on numerous humanitarian medical missions to African and the Caribbean.

Peggy Visher, MSN, CNM

Ms Visher is presently adjunct faculty in the School of Nursing at Olympic College. She received her BSN from Columbia University and her MSN and CNM from Yale University. From 1986 to 1988 she attended the PhD program at New York University (dissertation not completed). Peggy practiced midwifery in Brooklyn, New York where she was in a group practice. In addition to nursing education, Ms. Visher has an interest in health education for consumers and participation in the design and implementation of research projects. She is involved in numerous community service activities.
