Pasiens Mapunda, MD, MPH

Dr. Mapunda is the deputy country representative in Tanzania for Pathfinder International. He has Master Degrees in International Community Economic Development as well as in Public Health. Pasiens earned his post-doctoral training in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from University of Liverpool, UK. Dr. Mapunda has certifications in Family Planning Management and Reproductive Health Research Methodology. He has been a Program Management Specialist for USAID.

Bizunesh Tesfaye Tamirat, MD, MPH

Dr. Tamirat is an OB/GYN with an MPH from the University of Washington. She is the recipient of the Packard/Gates Foundation Population Leadership Fellowship. She has been the chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Zewditu Memorial Hospital and Tebibu General Hospital in Addis Ababa in Ethiopia. She has been a consultant for the WHO and Clinical Director at IntraHealth International.

Sheila Eleonu, MBBS

Dr. Eleonu received her medical degree from Abuja State University in Nigeria. She has certifications in PMTCT, EID, HIV/TB, Advanced ART, and Pediatric HIV. She is an HIV specialist designated by the American Academy of HIV Medicine. Dr. Eleonu has been active in community health and NGO work relating to education and access to free medications.

June Strickland, PhD, RN

Dr. Strickland is an associate professor at the School of Nursing in the Department of Psychosocial and Community Health at the University of Washington. Her research is in health related behavioral change (prevention). She is a public health nurse with a focus on trans-cultural nursing. She is the recipient of a USAID grant for her work on tribal communities.
